An Album About Pink Floyd Track 4
Pink Floyd gave the world prisms, flying pigs, and one very large wall. Track 4 gives them back a ukulele, a glockenspiel, and a sense of humour. An Album About Pink Floyd is twelve original songs that tell the true story of rock’s most famously serious band through jangly, sun-dappled twee pop. Hear how two Carolina bluesmen accidentally lent the band its name, how a group of architecture students drafted the blueprint for something much bigger than a building, and how the most profitable record on the moon turned into the longest receipt in chart history. Along the way there are bubbles, daffodils, a firing that came with a paycheque, a lawsuit that didn’t go to plan, and one sunny afternoon in Hyde Park when four old friends almost made peace. It’s clever, catchy, and full of wordplay, but it never forgets the heart of the story: the friend who drifted out of reach, and the quiet keyboard player who held the whole sound together without asking for applause. No covers. No borrowed lyrics. Just handclaps, harmonies, and a very big band told in a very small voice.
Track 4. An Album About Pink Floyd. Shine on, softly.
