Canada has had plenty of prime ministers, but only one ever made the country scream like it was waiting for the Beatles. On Trudeaumania, Gordie Mackenzie and Marc-Andre Tremblay pick up the battered guitar and wailing harmonica of the old dust-road troubadours to tell the story of Pierre Elliott Trudeau, the rose-wearing philosopher who swept a nation off its feet and then pirouetted behind the Queen's back. Across eleven songs, the duo follow him from a Montreal rich kid with a backpack to the leadership convention floor, through bottles flying on the boulevard, a word nobody can prove he said, and a long walk home in the snow.
